We offer both group and private guitar lessons as well as percussion and drumset lessons.

• Group Guitar classes are $70 per month, each weekly session is 45 minutes. Group classes are limited to only six students and fill up quickly. 
• Private lessons for drumset, percussion and guitar are available upon request and are arranged at the time of registration. Private lessons meet once a week for 30 minutes and are $22 per 30 minute session.

James Alvarez started playing his brother's drums in 5th grade and began playing guitar and classical percussion in middle school. In high school he was captain of his 5A drum line. A strong leader, he began the first of his school's Jazz bands, was a founding member of the San Antonio Youth Jazz Orchestra and a member of both his Region Jazz Band and the Sea World park band.

While attending UNT James played in the basketball band.  James also worked at the campus radio station as an announcer and staff member. He currently performs with two bands in the DFW and Austin areas and owns his own recording studio.

James brings a love for sharing music and a strong theory foundation to his teaching.  A well rounded musician James teaches guitar, drum set, percussion and even plays piano.  We are pleased to have James on our staff.  His positive attitude and passion for music continues to inspire our students.
